Inflammation occurs when strenuous exercise damages your muscle. This leads to an increase in swelling, sensitising your nerves and causing that familiar sensation of pain and soreness following a hard workout.
Compression Therapy can help! The Recovery Projects Pneumatic Compression Therapy applies external pressure to the muscles. This cuts down the space available for swelling, lessens inflammation and, most importantly, reduces pain and soreness!
The Recovery Projects Pneumatic Compression Therapy mimics the natural muscle pump of the legs, which aids the heart in the circulation of blood around the body.
By providing a mechanical massaging of the muscles, our compression system replicates the enhanced blood flow created by walking, running or cycling all while you relax in the comfort of your own home!
Instead of using static compression (squeezing) to transport fluid out of the limbs, The Recovery Projects Pneumatic Compression Therapy uses dynamic compression (pulsing). Our system also exerts up to 4 times greater levels of pressure when compared with commercially available compression garments (e.g. Skins). This dynamic application of greater pressure has been shown to be superior when compared with static compression at enhancing blood flow and removing metabolic waste.
Can anybody use compression boots?
Our compression boots are safe for users, however, before use we recommend consulting your doctor if you have any of the following conditions:
Acute pulmonary edema
Acute thrombophlebitis
Acute congestive cardiac failure
Acute infections
Deep vein thrombosis (DVT)
Episodes of pulmonary embolism
Wounds, lesions, infection, or tumors at or near the site of application Where increased venous and lymphatic return is undesirable
Bone fractures or dislocations at or near the site of application
Can I use the boots while pregnant?
We have found that many women who are pregnant use our boots to help relieve swelling and soreness! In any case, it is always best to consult with your doctor to see if this device is right, and safe, for you to use.
Pressure range of 80-260 mmHg
6 Overlapping Chambers
Deactivatable chambers: Sensitive leg areas can be excluded from the massage
6 Massage Modes
Customizable time, pressure, and zone settings
To get started, we recommend Compression Mode 2 as this provides sequential compression, which the research shows is the most effective for improving blood flow.
6 different massage modes to suit your preferences
1. Each chamber compresses and then releases before moving to the next chamber.
2. Starting with chamber 1, each chamber fills until all chambers are filled and the pressure is then released
3. Starting with chamber 1, each chamber fills, until 3 chambers are filled at once, from here chamber 1 is released as chamber 4 is added and so on.
4. All chambers compress before all releasing at the same time
5. Each chamber compresses and then releases before moving to the next chamber
6. 2 chambers compress at a time before releasing and moving to the next 2.
To change modes, simply press the pause button, change your mode by pressing the + or - and press play to restart the compression
The pressure range of 80-260 mmHg allows you to choose how intense you would like the compression.
It is recommended to increase your pressure slowly to avoid any discomfort. This can be increase during your session with the need to stop and start the program
To turn off a chamber, maybe due to injury or discomfort; simply tap the 'position' button until you reach the chamber you wish to switch off, then select confirm.
You can then press the 'on' button and the chamber elected will be skipped.
